July 2010 Newsletter

ZX14 Club Owners of SA, Good news!  Our events calendar has been updated till end  2010 with the Gauteng and Vaal Triangle dates  -  Keep these days open,  more detail to follow soon!  We are also in the process to establish a new regional team in KZN with Leon Taljaard  -  KZN members, watch this space!

All of our members have been issued with a member logon and password.  This is to access the member logon area where you can view members in your area, and also access the forum where you can participate in various topics with other ZX14 owners.  Should you not remember your logon details, please send an email to the Club Secretary Sandra Pretorius (Detail on site).

We are in the process of opening a bank account for our ZX14 Owners Club of SA.  In the future we will ask of you to submit a form if you are attending a breakfast run or not and then to deposit the breakfast run in the bank account just to make the administration of the runs easier and more efficient (dont want a repeat of the Stonehaven incident where co-riders had to pay additional since one member did not pay!).  We would like to add R10 to each breakfast run per participant in order to build up some funds that will be used to sponsor some promotional items to dish out at our runs!  Freddie is also busy networking with some potential sponsors.  In the future a minimal fee for classifieds being posted on our site will be charged.  Sandra will keep you informed about this during the next few weeks.

Our next Gauteng major run will be in August, BUT we are attending the Big Heart Bikers Buffet Breakfast on the 18th of July.  Please invite your family and friends to join us this day in support of CANSA.  Bookings are essential!  Please use the survey form to indicate if you are attending or not.  Click here for Big Heart Biker Buffet Breakfast Survey

Since we do not have the ZX14 bank account yet, payments (R120 per participant) can be made into the Club Secretaries account before the 11th of July in order for her to collect the tickets in time:

S Pretorius                                                               Standard Bank

Acc nr    02-210-696-0                                         Ref your name please!

Also email to Sandra proof of payment before the 11th of July

We will meet at Engen Blockhouse at 09:00 and meet up with the larger biker community at the Vaal Mall Vanderbijlpark at 09:30, leaving from there for a mass ride to Stonehaven.  Ideal opportunity for your friends and family to join us for a lekker breakfast! Please see more detail in the events calendar area.

We as a ZX14 Owners Club would like to support a charity as well, but are still in the process to lay down some ground rules to who and where and when.  In the meantime, please think about possible candidates.  If you have ideas on promotional items, venues, trips, etc. please feel free to share this with our club secretary, Sandra.

Message from Freddie:

Sandra once again, thank you so much, for this awesome effort of yours to get the zx14 club administration in place. The next Gauteng major ZX14 only run will be in August like Sandra already mentioned, and I think we will depart from X-rated Bikes in Krugersdorp and end venue will be Premier Hotel Cullinan. Once Sedibeng/Vaaldriehoek is up and running with their major runs, you are also welcome to join that Province. This idea about charity is paramount for me, but I really dont want to be stereo type and therefore lots of thinking needs to be done for good end results regarding this idea. I am contemplating Solidariteit, who is very active and creative with such events and ideas.

I am looking forward to meet up with Leon Taljaard in Greytown KZN , because Leon has given me indications that he will be able and willing to get KZN chapter in an active state. I hope to lease with Leon between 10 July and 16 July upcoming.

Someone in Cape Town area also indicated interest for leadership in the Cape Area, but I need to follow up on this one.

Pillion and I will be riding, with the zx14 of course, in Durban area 10 to 16 July 2010

Kind regards
